Agreed. I like the full frame for constructions sites and stuff, but I actually prefer a frameless also. I can’t seem to get my technique right dumping with a full frame, and getting away from the pile. Especially uphill the weight of the load doesn’t have enough “oomph” to push me away. And like dumping in salt barns I’m used to just backing in a touch further than the trailer tandems, and when the trailer is about to hit the door opening, walking it out. It’s hard to get a fluid motion with a full frame and keep everything moving and material dumping out. At least for me.

We have long frame trailers here as well, and I’ve pulled them a time or two and I’ll be honest with you, they scare the crap out of me. They always look to be leaning, and in whatever weird way I feel so much safer dumping my frameless, it’s almost like it communicates to me, when it’s happy going up I can see it and feel it, when something isn’t right it’s almost like it lets me know and I make the necessary adjustments. Sounds super weird to have a communication basis with your trailer, but I’m sure the rest of you can relate to what I’m talking about.

You’re absolutely right, I can totally relate. When a frameless comes up out of the saddle smooth and everything is lining up as it goes up, you just know things are going right, so far. My full frame always looks like it has a lean to it, I find my self looking out the back window a lot to see if the piston looks straight. Plus, I got into some soft ground the other day dumping and had to rock back and forth to get out, where with a frameless I could have just “caterpillared” my way out.

Sunshine state my “arse”, this picture does no justice to what a wreck my truck is this morning. 7 plus miles down this dirt road to get back to the feed barn, after the rain they got last night the road was destroyed, as was my truck. Currently sitting at the beacon in about a 2 hour wait, but there’s no way I could be seen in this thing any longer. Wish me luck, happy thanksgiving. EFEDB433-7F90-48A5-B541-3BE5AF2C3F46.jpeg

Wanted to bring something else up over the years, any of you have something that’s traveled with you from truck to truck over time? I’ve had this horseshoe with me for a while, it’s ridden on my trailer for a while, and has since found its home on the tractor, I’m not a real superstitious guy, but heck what can it hurt, any good luck to keep me up right is ok with me. Happy thanksgiving all, be safe. F27C9449-2FD7-4B9E-AD13-9725EFCFC1AF.jpeg

That horseshoe thing is pretty neat. I've always hung a stuffed monkey in the truck. One a those that when ya squeeze it's paw it makes noise. Named him George. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Safe travels this season as always.

Pretty much @NightWind that place can do a number on your truck too. Hope you have a nice thanksgiving, I'll probably be up that way next week, I'll keep an eye out for you.
