Well, I'm sitting at a delivery and they just started me. I'm 15 minutes from home. Just looked at the boards and there are 184 trucks posted (exact) and almost 900 similar results trying to get out of my area. Looks like I'm actually lucky, not unlucky, because I'm close to the house. I was going to work today but there's no fight in the dog today.
Hope you fellas get trucking out of your head for a moment and just go home and see your families. If you can't then try to make the best of it where you are.
This too shall pass, buy a little of that fuel that's a little cheaper than it was yesterday and go home.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Wasted time last night on a big money 500 mile outbound from home scheduled to deliver at 2pm today. I knew it would be legit to get delivered today without checking. Stupid shipper burned 4 hours loading last night so no way I was making that scheduled delivery. In reefer world you don't miss scheduled delivery times, especially just before a major holiday.
They had 90% of it picked and palletized on the truck. So off the truck it came when I told them what the deal was and I wasn't signing for the freight anymore. I had already warned them an hour prior. They grumbled somebody would be paying charges for unloading it and breaking it down. I told them I don't have any money just contact the broker (and thought to myself good luck getting this brokerage on the phone lol). They mentioned something how it was a missed Monday pickup. Typical broker (a real stretch here calling **** a broker) scenario here where they tried to cover it on a garbage rate for 2 days now some big brand pizza chain is gonna have shortages (supply chain issues) before this holiday weekend's football games lol.
Last time I booked one from them several years ago nearly the same thing happened. I knew I should have passed on the load. Could've used the money tho. Here's the one little scenario where I wish I was still on paper logs because I would've rolled on down the road with this load and no-one the wiser.
