I've posted about this in the past. Thieves are on the lookout for U-Haul trucks in Clark County. They steal the truck and all belongings and also steal the vehicle the U-Haul truck is towing.
Never spend the night at a hotel/motel in Clark County (Las Vegas area) if you're driving a U-Haul truck or pulling a U-Haul trailer. Odds are, it won't be there when you wake up the next morning.
All the thefts have one thing in common, the people renting the trucks don't use tracking devices on their personal items or leave one in the truck. -
How did I know there’d be a GoFundMe?
Chinatown Thanks this. -
If you move here and pull a U-Haul trailer or use a U-Haul truck, plan your trip so you don't have to spend the night in a hotel/motel in Nevada. Once you're in Nevada, especially Clark County, drive straight to your new home and unload right then. Don't park and plan to unload the next morning.
This place is loaded with drug addicts and homeless people and they're watching you if you drive a U-Haul truck. -
One man and his wife moved here from Nashville. Had purchased a home here as their retirement home.
U-Haul truck with all their possessions including personal papers and an antique guitar collection. Also had a car on a trailer. Decided to wait until morning to drive to the new home and unload the truck. Next morning everything was gone and never found.
Dozens of similar stories like that from Las Vegas/Clark County. -

Las Vegas police unload 30-foot trailer of stolen goods
Las Vegas police and retailers are in the process of cataloguing a 30-foot moving trailer filled with stolen goods recovered from a suspected fencing operation. Three men were arrested. Police say the suspects "knowingly purchased stolen property and then sell the goods to unsuspected buyers." Police previously estimated the goods they recovered are worth at least $1 million. The true value will be known once they've had the opportunity to process all the items, they said. >> https://www.ktnv.com/news/crime/pho...-of-stolen-goods-after-fencing-operation-bust -
i say set up a sting operation, then load up the uhaul van with the thugs, drive them out to the desert, and set it on fire with all of them locked inside.
seems reasonable enough to me.lilillill and IH Truck Guy Thank this. -
Pretty tempting idea to go park a U-haul at a motel and sit somewhere with a good line of sight.
