New here, but starting in January so I figured I'd finally make an account. Obviously good cell service is important, as I'm told wifi at stops is really bad. What service do you use and for how much? I'm not so worried about cost, as I don't think this is the best place to try and save money, so the best plans are my priority. Thanks.

I have a T-Mobile 5G device. It is usually very good.
    100GB for about $50 a month.

I say usually because today it is very bad.
Aurora, CO at the J and I can't get anything done with this connection.
Maybe the tower I am connected to is simply overloaded?

I'm using Straight Talk. You can use your own unlocked phone. Verizon now owns Straight Talk/trac phones so it has to be CMDA phone 5G to work in Verizon. Straight Talk you won't get much customers service. You can get unlimited high speed data and talk and text for $45 a month, they say at 60GB of data the could look at your account for using to much data. I never had them do anything going over 60GB. The might do something at 100GB or more. Straight Talk only give you like 5GB of Hotspot data

You can always go directly to Verizon and probably pay more but get high speed data and get better coverage out west. Unlimited Hotspot data.

Verizon and T-Mobile both have free trials you can test their data coverage.

You might want a phone with eSiM capabilities. I have Google Pixel phone and with eSiM you don't need a SIM card from the cell phone company. If they support eSiM also you can activate you phone using the built in eSiM card on you phone. Apple I believe now has eSiM on their phones. I would say it future but it's just getting started in USA. eSim makes switching phone company more easy because you don't need to get Sim card from cell phone company. Pixel phones have all the antennas so they can work on any cell phone towers. I'm guessing Apple is the same now but not sure if you buy unlocked phone.

Verizon network. Xfinity is my home internet provider and that allows me to get phone service on the Verizon network for less than Verizon. $45/mo with 20GB of data.

Not sure if the OP really needed Hotspot service on cell phone or just internet in general. My actual Hotspot does not work on Pixel phone on Straight Talk. It could be because I got new phone and just switched the SIM card to new phone without telling straight talk.

New here as well, but I'm using a cellular isp called Otr mobile. I'm getting Unlimited data for $99 at the moment. I've been with them for over a year now both in my rig and my 5th wheel, no major hiccups so far. I am interested though if anyone knows any good boosters for cell signal? I run into issues down in Louisiana quite often.
