I know this is a on going debate. However if you are a one man show please respond. Question is do you regret going to a new emissions truck from having a glider? Are you trading every 3-5 yrs? Thanks

I’m a one man show and I don’t have a choice with my Emissions’s. I live in Commiefornia. I get a hiccup here and there but I’m use to it. However, if I could get away with a pre emission motor, I wouldn’t blink twice about it.

I have both a 1999 & 2021 so no. I haven't had any issues with the 2021. It's staying on top of maintenance schedule. I have an apu so I don't idle at all. I'll let you know if the "21" acts up then I'll revert back to the faithful "99" :D:D

The majority of the problems I've had with my truck have been emissions related. I finally solved the problem (temporarily) by taking it to a good mechanic, a youtube guy actually, and having him replace all the sensors and installing a new dpf filter instead of just having it cleaned. Also had him replace the 7th injector, had the pump changed, etc. It was expensive but cheaper than doing it piecemeal while OTR under a load. If I ever get another used truck I am going to have it completely redone from the get go to avoid so many headaches.

I’ve been in this 2018 International LT with an X15 Cummins for 2 years. No issues with the emissions. I don’t idle at all. I recently put a Green APU on it because I’m getting old and don’t like the heat and humidity while trying to sleep. If you do go this route do not idle these engines. Just take a walk around a busy truck stop at night and listen to how these engines sound when they’ve been in idle for a few hours. You’ll understand why they are having problems then.

I own a 13 glider and a 19 emissions truck. Both are Western Stars. The DT12 in the 19 is nice, but give me the glider as a one truck owner for sure. Glider prices are just stupid these days, though.

Not to change the subject, but I thought this modern day Rubber Duck truck was cool.

I’d love a new truck, but I don’t want to have to work that hard to pay for it
