You’re acting like Pepsi is stupid for taking delivery of these trucks because the infrastructure isn’t there to run them OTR across the country. I’m sure the other companies that committed to zero emission regional fleets in the past didn’t have the ability to fuel the trucks at their terminal when they decided to do it.
Tesla semi truck is finally here! Pepsi taking delivery of first trucks. Event & drive videos.

I’m looking at it from my o/o’s perspectiveBean Jr. Thanks this. -
Insurance companies will dictate whether the Tesla truck is successful or not. Personally I don’t see it lasting very long as designed.
If I was in the market for an electric, local truck I’d be looking at the Kenworth T680E. At least it isn’t ugly as fluff.
Although I’m all for it replacing the millions of local fleet trucks, it’ll be decades imo before it is used on OTR long haul trucks.
On the bright side, if the electric trucks take hold of the local demand what that could possibly do to diesel prices..
Imagine for a moment what would happen if suddenly all OTR trucks were electric..are there going to be charging stations on off ramps..shoulders of the interstate for Prime Inc drivers? How about nosers, will they need to start learning how to back their trucks in?Siinman, rogueunh and Kairen0001 Thank this. -
Why is it so hard to admit that, just like everyone else, you have no special knowledge of Tesla's plans.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -

Tesla: "Hold my beer....."
That being said, looks probably won't matter to fleets. -
Has anyone mentioned how a company now needs to buy 2 trucks for 24 hour continuous operations. Where before a driver was able to complete a 12 hour day shift, fuel and park a truck and the night driver did their pre trip and do their 12 then fuel and park… repeat. Now you need two trucks so one can be working while the other charges.
Can the price of fuel for 1 truck justify a second electric truck?JoeyJunk Thanks this. -

I can see all those trucks plugged in at the truck stops in Ontario CA. Be one hell of a drain to charge a few hundred trucks. Probably cost you $500.00 a charge per truck. Grid out In commiefornia can’t cope now. Going to get interesting
