Anyone have this issue recently?
past time my hazmat turnaround was within 2-weeks.
My paperwork was sent to TSA for processing on 8/11 I received a letter in the mail from the state of Florida saying they haven’t received the “ok” from TSA yet.
I called TSA but because I live in a “non compliant” state Florida should handle my concerns women at tsa tells me background check came back fine within 7-days.
how exactly do I get TSA to play telephone with Florida or vice versa?
imma nag dmv tomorrow on the phone tomorrow.
just curious if this is a covid thing, or whatever. I know DMV in my area is still playing the stupid covid games can’t even go inside without an appointment.
Hazmat background check over 90 days?

Its been a ongoing issue, some people have really long wait times. We hane had guys take a couple months, one guy recently had his back in less than 8 hours. Its just a crap shoot right now.

That whole this is just complete BS.... they said it was to ensure that some terrorists could get a HM load, and use it for terrorism. I am pretty sure that no one that has driven a truck bomb has ever gone through the trouble of getting a HM endorsement for that 1000+ pound load of explosives.

Now in the past, when the TSA check was done, I'd receive a letter stating that it had been sent to the state, and I could renew. This year, I got a curiously worded letter from the state, that I can't check now, I just shredded it yesterday..but I suspect, if Florida is the non-compliant state you say, you're going to need the letter from the TSA of approval, and take that to the state yourself, since you've said the TSA says there is no problem with the approval, they should have sent you that in a letter to take to Florida. Michigan is compliant, and already knew I was approved. I do suspect that the lack of staff may still be a problem, but if they aren't in the system to get notification, you have to do it manually.
When the DOT physical was first being attached to your license, even though Michigan was supposed to be compliant, when I went through Kansas and got pulled in at a weight station, I was informed my physical had expired, to which I produced the long form to counter that, and was passed. NEVER count on technology and the government to do their job. Do it for them, or it won't get done.kemosabi49 Thanks this. -
