What O/O gig is the most lucrative but home daily? Day cab, log truck, dump, flatbed, etc? Anyone ever try to get into moving mobile homes?

Gonna completely depend on where you live and what's there. Southern states always warm or northern and construction shuts down in winter. Lots of manufacturing around you? Livestock? Look around and watch trucks

I’m a company driver but have reached out to a couple companies in my state who hire o/o for local work. One does bark/mulch and landfill work, the other does wood chips and land fill work. The first company gave me fewer details but drivers typically bring in around $6,000 or so a week. The other company is more like $6,000-8500/week depending on how a guy wants to run, and the season. They gave me the load rates and availability so I was able run estimates on a mock week. Both claim this is year round.

Anyway, I’m interested in following this as well.

    Yeah,
Oregon, but there’s a little bit of everything here.

Why do you want to make the move to owner operator?

As a part of FLFFL (fck landfills for life) that is no where near enough to submit my truck to that torture

Id rather be my own boss and make more money than the 45k a year that I currently make.

Honestly I would look at starting a different kind of business if being home nightly is a big concern.
