Hi there,
Understanding that ELDs are becoming mandatory on Jan. 1, 2023, hoping that there may be someone willing to chat about that for a CBC story in Alberta - pro or con.
My email is joel.dryden@cbc.ca
Thanks!

I like ELDS but then I’m on 8 hour linehaul run ,,,it would suck to have to deal with HOS on long haul…when i was on long haul in the previous century i usually ran 8 hours,,,had a 2 hour nap then ran another 6 or 8 hours. We not all chipped the same but that schedule worked for me
Newbies should be limited to 8 hours at 55 MPH until they got 10 years accident freeLast edited: Dec 26, 2022

I was totally against them years ago but don’t mind them now that glitches are less often .. anyone who says they aren’t needed has their head in the sand
Another Canadian driver and EvertonP Thank this. -
Must be an Alberta only thing, been mandatory since last year for inter provincial carriers.

News person, please note it’s this mentality that is more dangerous than any said “newbie” on the road. Thank you.Another Canadian driver and EvertonP Thank this. -
8 hours a day at 55 MPH for 10 years? WTF?

Only an idiot would get on the news and discuss anything about any job .
there is zero upside to doing so .
And unlimited downside .Another Canadian driver, JPSouth, ilovetruckz and 1 other person Thank this. -

I used to drive till I got tired and take a nap and then drive till I got tired and take a nap etc
if you’re not racing the clock , you can rest when you need it , you don’t have to drive when you’re sleepy because you’re 11 hour clock is ticking and can’t be stoppedAnother Canadian driver Thanks this.
