I'm an OTR driver looking for a good long haul job with a small company. Under 25 trucks preferably. Van or reefer. Home time is wide open. A month or more is very possible, if I can get what I need. My major priority is getting into a solid, reliable truck. Without that nothing else matters. Looking for something with a little wheelbase, strong power, decent sleeper, preferably stick shift, 75 mph. Almost anything Peterbilt/Kenworth, longer Freightliners, and some others. I don't make any long term commitments for standard fleet type trucks anymore. However, I will drive them on temporary deals. Need near maximum miles, above 3k miles a week consistently. Preferably well above. I can top 4k miles in a week consistently, even on Elogs, with a strong truck and good planning. I'm a bit of a hard charger, but safe, and my record shows it. Looking for reasonable pay for my experience. I do bring a lot to the table, and I'm quite serious about what I do. For any 1099 jobs I'm looking for pay at the end of each week, no holds. One too many battles over pay, so that's how I work now. W2 is fine too.

Also do temporary and casual runs. Truck and load recoveries, truck moves, etc. Not picky about equipment for this type of work, other than it has to be able to pass a full DOT inspection.

28 years experience. Mainly vans and reefers. Some flatbed early in my career. A year in ND oilfields, 2014-15, crude oil and water tankers. All lower 48 states. Every transmission up to 18 speed. Wheelbases to 290. CDL A with tanker, renewed a few months ago till 2029. 2 year DOT physical in February. Good MVR, no moving violations or accidents. Good PSP, a couple minor violations 2 1/2 years ago. No criminal record ever. No drugs EVER, registered in the FMCSA clearinghouse. Lifetime NON smoker. I don't drink alcohol, haven't touched it in nearly 20 years. No DUIs EVER. Good physical condition, can still pass an Army PT test. 8 year US Army infantry veteran, 86 - 94, Honorable. ** BASED IN ROCHESTER, INDIANA.

Direct and straightforward. Not a small talker. Like to take care of business first. Back up my word, a mind blowing thing in this business sometimes. Looking for the same in return.

Not trying to portray myself as some kind of super trucker here. My big mistakes have been in my choice of employers. A lot of Chicagoland work. In wars with a few dirtbags up there. You live and learn. It is what it is.

Ready to go now. Waiting on a serious job offer that meets my needs. Looking for something with long term possibilities, beyond this current climate.

I have absolutely NO interest in ANY big fleets, or anyone connected to them. Smaller is better to me. Not interested in being handcuffed to any mega customers. Never works well for me. For anything dedicated I would be looking for some serious miles. * I am NOT taking any more Chicagoland jobs. Done with that area.
I'm not looking to stumble into another dead end, and I'm definitely not interested in any more problem trucks. Serious DOT problems and regularly sticking it to drivers are deal breakers. Not getting in the middle of that.

Getting offers every single day. Nothing from this website. Just covering my bases. I'll get something eventually.

You and I are both looking for the same thing. Unfortunately it’s seems our style of driving is on the way out. Finding a good mom and pop is a thing of the past.

I don't believe that for a second. Plenty of small companies out there. Just gotta look in the right places, and have a little patience. Anyway, it's either that, or my long haul career is over.

You don't have to sell yourself to us. You gotta sell yourself to an employer.

So it's been like almost 2 months and you're still looking?

You're point is what ? I'm trying to sell myself to an employer, not you. I could take the first garbage offer that comes along. Or I could wait for something that is the right fit for me, and I can keep long term . Might take time. Which is better ?

Paying the bills is better. Waiting for the perfect job to come along will ensure you never get the perfect job. Your long haul career is over if you want the perfect driving job.

My point is you're posting all of this crap about you but you admit you aren't looking for a job on here. You could have fooled me. I mean your thread is 2 months old and you updated it today with MORE stuff about yourself. More credentials..

So the question is, WHAT IS YOUR POINT?

Its not his first post... Its been 5 months. In the meantime he went and got burned by a Chicagoland 1099 outfit.
