Home time and family/marriage affected overhead costs will soar. Engine idling will shorten life not all people are built to sleep 8 hrs even when at home A computer dictating when you can/can not work
Instead staying steady 100 km/hr weather permitting one will be on the clock stressing alll day about the timer on eld
If your not feeling well and take a hour for a snooze it affects your destination more stress instead of operating in a relaxed state which will cause fatigue etc
In the financial side expect to see more defaults more in than we ever have it’s a tough career now it’s that much more. Tell me why we can’t attract young people to our industry well now there will be even more restrictions who would want to feel as though big.brother is breathing down your even than they are now and the chance to earn more money has been limited

Quicker in and out at pickups and drops.. in the event you are held up, no more "just make it happen".. at inspection zero nervousness if they'll buy whatever bs I wrote down..
All that being said, I can't really say I like them or hate them. Really, there's only few times I get hung by it. There's good and bad. Don't really think they're necessary, but as truck drivers our opinions don't matter. Just so long as we don't drive 36 hours straight like we used to. Now we just run our day, can't sleep so watch the clock, then run the next day on zero sleep but the box says you're legal so that's more better, I guess.
On overnight runs it just switched from, they'll load us at 7pm and deliver next morning to east coast to, load us at 8am instead. So I put a few more hours on my reefer and I have to find a place to sleep at night.Another Canadian driver and Canadianhauler21 Thank this. -

Ive been on them before, the company I am at now is just starting them, the drivers that have been on them before know its not a big deal. The guys tyat are goign to have a problem at my current company are the couple that stop all the time to "check the load" (really smoke breaks), and will find out they are going to run out of hours compared to those of us who keep the left door closed.
upnorthwpg Thanks this.
