And this is why when I'm having hard days at Estes, I've learned to chalk it up to "the game." Things slow here at times, but it never slows to the point where I have to leave.

I will say I am one of those drivers that will work weekends and run the road if I need to. IDGAF. I run a run and the guys behind me get cut ALMOST EVERY DAY. I heard the guy directly behind me got cut last week EVERY DAY.

He was begging on a Sunday to work so he wouldn't go a full week without a check. That's a tough situation to be in. You're a Hustler man. I respect that more than anything and you have a wife and kids. You got big balls doing what you did. I respect it. Hopefully something comes through. If you haven't before, I'd recommend linehaul at Estes.

Dam it. I’m glad I’m not the only
One working those hours. I work 70 in 5 and 80-84 in 6. It sucks for sure but at least I don’t change out brake chambers lol

Heard Yellow just laid off some drivers at the local terminal.

My run has stabilized a bit and aside from weather cancellations, I've been running it every day. Still very light outbound but my meet driver is consistently bringing me two full trailers, so it looks like I'm going to stick with it through the rest of winter.

I’ve been pulling a few empties but I’ve been fortunate as the only cuts have been weather related. Hoping I can stay on this bid for another year

Same here. Picking up some short meets (200-300 miles) that other drivers can't make with the road conditions. I don't care to drive 600 miles on ice anyways. Kinda nice to get home by 0430 for a change.

Well we did a rebid this week, I took the last Reno to Tonopah back to Reno turn run so I get to just run in Nevada which I am cool with, I hope everything is going good with the rest of you and you guys are staying busy and no layoffs.

I guess I spoke too soon, cancelled tonight for lack of freight. We had enough extraboard below me that I could pass and stay home, so I'll count this as a win.

Getting home that early is what it's all about for me. I'll get off my ### and work in the summer.

Hopefully not a lot of "free range" on that run.

When my GF and I drove through Nevada years ago, almost hit an all black cow.
Started thinking free range cattle should have safety vests.

That can happen sometimes but it's rare, what can be out there though is wild horses, wild burrows, antelope and a congregation of big horn sheep that hang around in those hills near town of Walker Lake that's before Hawthorne if you are going southbound on 95.
