I'm away from the truck until next week, but I'm going to hardwire mine into the outlet instead of the double male and I'll let you know how it works out. Now I can fix it properly and it will be dummy proof for anyone else who may use it. The only thing I'm still unsure about is how the switch up high on the driver side that says 120V works. I think I'm just going to leave the shore power outlet disconnected rather than try to tie it into the inverter. Thanks for making this thread!

Yes please do let me know what you figure out with yours. You're welcome for the thread. Thank you for replying with your knowledge of the shore power. I imagine maybe it did have a factory inverter, I wouldn't imagine there being any use for the shore power or cab power otherwise without one being installed. Guess someone removed it at some point, though. I know it was once a Rains and Sons truck, I think when it was brand new anyway. I am just honestly surprised and happy that the TK inverter turned out to be working after all. Now I can get a microwave, put a small 1 gallon shop vac in it to vacuum the cruddy looking carpet and floor and charge my phone much faster than with the cigarette lighter plug.

Went to work on this today, and the bolts were just spinning with the nuts. The backs are behind the fabric panel part with a plastic or rubber plug hiding the bolt head. I might be able to apply pressure and turn, or hold the bolt with pliers and attempt to break it free, but I don't want to spend too much time on it at this point. It's an 8mm nut and not much room for a wrench in there.

So left cord goes to the outlet above the refrigerator. The right cords go to the underbunk and passenger side wall. The bottom plug is the one that hooks into shore power. Without being able to see in the box, the best solution I see is to cut the bottom Phillips cord and attach a male end to those wires, provided they're color coded correctly or you know which is hot, neutral, and ground.

If I ever get around to fixing this, I'll update the thread.

Thank you for sharing this here. I do appreciate it. I ended up just running the power strip with like a 2' power cord from the inverter. The power strip just hangs against the bunk wall just under the bunk which is suitable so far for me. I have the cord I ordered from amazon to just connect it to the outlet on the inverter and then plug it into the male plug outside of the truck. I really didn't want to plug it up that way and just leave it that way for fear of corroding things while it is like that, but may just try it for now. I too am kind of leery about cutting that one cord you mentioned, for fear it may not be color coded, or if it is may not match the cord I am trying to connect it to. I have a test light though, so I suppose that would help me get the power and ground connected properly otherwise, maybe?

I wouldn't use a test light, I'd use a multimeter to test it. Make sure the box is unpowered and set the meter to ohms, then stick one end on one of the wires that are cut, then stick the other end in one of the outlet holes. When you get a reading or it beeps, you know that wire goes to that hole. Then do another wire the same way, then the last wire and hole go together. Then you match the wires with the male plug, and you save $80 or whatever stupid amount they charge for a simple cable.

A multimeter would be a good investment for me. I don't have one. But I better get one since I don't want to constantly be going to a shop to have anything done that requires that.

I don't know which brand I carry in my truck, it's an old yellow one that I've had forever and works really well except it doesn't make noise. I bought a cheap Harbor Freight one for like $10 or something and it didn't even work. I bought one of the more expensive Harbor Freight ones, and while it does work, I'm not a fan of the push button power switch. I'd much rather turn the dial to off when I'm done using it, since it's less likely to be accidentally switched on when being stored. Do some research, they're pretty inexpensive, yet one of the most useful tools I carry on the truck.

Yeah harbor freight is junk. I wouldn't want to buy a roll of toilet paper from them. I think I had a multimeter once years ago but never used it and didn't keep up with it. I've had tools before too and just eventually lost them some place or left them somewhere when I moved so now I am buying tools as I need them since I bought this truck.

If the truck is using the factory Xantrex inverter , The cab power outlets can be plugged into the inverter and the inverter will attach to the outside plug.

The factory inverter system is designed so that if you plug in the shore power it will pass through the inverter to the outlets and also engage a 40 amp battery charger in the process
