What tools do you use daily? Load Boards, rate tools, carrier vetting, tracking, etc.

    Getting my brokerage set up and looking for some guidance. What programs do you use daily to run your business? I plan to start with the basics then upgrade my tools as I start earning.

    Load Boards

    What is the best load board for brokers? I plan to get both DAT and Truckstop eventually but if you could have just one would it be DAT? Is "Express" sufficient or should I get "Select" for $100 more? Not sure what "live load board" means with Select. Isn't Express "live" as well? If I post a load it goes live right? o_O

    Rate Tools

    Do any of you use DAT Rateview? Is it worth the price? How about Truck Stop Ratemate?

    Carrier Vetting

    What tool do you use? Many recommend Carrier411. Could I just check Safer for now? I see DAT has a program called Carrier Watch.

    Tracking

    I will invest in Macropoint ASAP unless there's a better program out there. I read good things about Fourkites?

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I'd like to know what's the deal with all these bs tracking apps all of the sudden..?

    Seems like lots more this year. Not to mention, when I ask why I keep getting check calls while using these batteries draining abominations, the always answer is, "we can't actually see you on them".. o_O
    Then why am I using this crap?

    One can only assume y'all are double dipping, getting paid by selling our tracking data to god knows who, & attempting to penalize me $50-$100 fornot wanting to be followed around like a 2yr old. :mad:

    Last thing I'm gonna do is run off with someone's freight. I'm dropping the junk fast as can at consignee so I can move on to the next one.. With an unreliable carrier sure, but until I act a fool, give a guy the benefit of the doubt.. jeez

    Can you tell I've got a pet peeve...?:rolleyes:

    Yes im right with you screw.That is why i always give them a higher rate when i ask if there is tracking on the load.... Just dont tell some of the members on here you are charging extra for tracking.. Because they will tell you all kinds of bs of how its part of the job and you should be doing it for free. :rolleyes:

    I couldn't agree with ya more. Far as I see, it's no different than a tarp, ramps, 2nd stop accessory charge. I'm with you, gonna start hitting them for it!!

    We ain't run'n a non-profit organization over here.. Though being tax exempt might be nice.. lol

    II's gotten so bad, I literally got a new phone last month because I ran out of internal storage downloading these darn things.. :mad: Friggin sick of it..

    Got no issues with being on time, or picking up the phone & letting the broker know what's happening..

    I get there are some scumbag companies out here, but if broker checks all my reviews in the carrier vetting he is talking about, I'm spotless. Save that tracking bs for bottom barrel, & let the rest of us be..

    These guys are probably more likely to offer you help than your competition- other freight brokers.

    So you don't have an answer about tracking?

    And why y'all who demand we use it quote "can't see us on a tracking app"..

    Ya gotta be getting paid on the backside..

    Stick with the vetting deal, & check calls. You'll have better trucks, & better relationships with the hands run'n your brokered freight. That's the best I can offer you..

    Did you read my post? I'm just getting my brokerage set up. I haven't moved a single load and I don't have any tracking software yet. I'm currently a company driver. You're barking up the wrong tree.
