Any idea what original radiator is in this truck and what aftermarket number can replace it. It does have the surge tank on top of it.

I see they sell aluminum and copper, which is better? Mine is original so, it copper. Do I have to have a surge tank?

They’re the ones to ask, as I’m not qualified. Haha. I only know of them, because the owner owns a big powdercoat operation I’ve used.

I bought a brand new complete radiator for my 95 W900L about 5 years ago from the local Kenworth dealer, the bottom section has deteriorated and the fins are completely gone.

The core I ordered and put the original tanks in seemed to be better quality, I’ll have to get the number for that company when I go out in the shop tomorrow….

I did the same and mine SEEMS to be in a perfectly normal state of wear and tear (top tank starting to show its age, nothing a can of paint wont fix) and the fins are all there. You do a lot more offroading?

No sir, most of my miles have been interstate except the last year. The radiator started looking old, and it wasn’t no time the lower fins just started disappearing. There’s a section big as 2 basketballs gone from the lower section…..

Advance radiator in west Burlington Iowa has done very nice work for me on everything from tractors to heavy construction to semi trucks. Some repairs some recores and one or two new ones. Probably the best warranty that you will get and good prices. Not sure what’s wrong with yours but I would consider talking to them.

Could be that i bought the trp version? They wanted 1300 on trp, but 2500 on the paccar one... maybe you bought the pricier but less well made one? :p
