Can you take your wife permanently? I watched a video on their website, and it made it sound like the rider program is only an occasional thing.

Some companies may not allow riders during the winter months.

Maybe you should call Crete directly to ask about it.

Perhaps call one of their terminals and speak to a Driver Manager, Fleet Manager or the Terminal Manager.
Any of them would know, and probably would not BS you like a recruiter might do.

tscottme, kylefitzy and insipidtoast Thank this.

It's pretty common. Any passenger is a potential liability to the trucking company. In the case of an accident, the passenger is a potential lawsuit against the company. Some companies require the driver pay for an insurance policy for the passenger.. Some customers will not allow passengers, especially children on the property. Many companies only allow spouses, not girlfriends or your children above a certain age to ride along. At the companies I worked for carrying a passenger that wasn't specifically allowed by the trucking company is a firing event.

I've heard all that before. Just never heard the part about not allowing the wife in winter.

Winter driving is much more dangerous, so the liability is higher.

They have insurance to cover them and If the don't look somewhere else. There are plenty of other companies that allow your spouse to ride all year long
