How do you do the cleaning (dishes etc) that require running water?

2.5 gallon water jug, set on catwalk, open lid slightly, nonpotable water, wash dish, wash hands, etc, tighten cap.

Cheap way.

 

A horizontal 2.5 gallon jug that fits inside your sleeper door and has a knob to run the water is nice. Open the door, turn the knob, and do what you gotta do. Otherwise just use all paper plates, plastic cups and utensils.

 

Y'all are way overthinking this.

I use plastic plates and cups, but metal and plastic utensils. Really no deep cleaning required.

I don't use paper plates because they are flimsy and get soaked through.
Plastic plates that I use once and throw away.
Same with cups for drinks.

Fork, knife and spoon are metal. They get licked clean and wiped with a paper towel.
Yes, lots of paper towels I use, for various things.

Cooking utensils are plastic with the exception of knives for cutting food.
They are also just wiped clean with paper towels. I wipe the knife with a wet wipe after cutting a lemon. Acidic, you know.

The lunchbox oven uses tins that are thrown away.
The grill get the paper towel treatment.


We are not living at home out here, and there is no reason we should be trying to.
Just too difficult most of the time, and really not needed.

 

Reusable Tupperware to store food in, warmed up in a glass microwave safe bowl, decent stainless silverware. Wiped out paper towel then with Baby wipes. Never used soap or water on utensils or glass bowl i keep in truck. been doing this for 8 years, never got sick, upset stomach, runs, etc from anything I ate in truck.
Tupperware gets thrown in dishwasher when at home at end of week.

Parchment paper will help keep electric stuff clean like skillets, toaster ovens, and even small crock pots.

Can buy some dish soap and take the stuff into a truckstop shower to clean it easily. Or spray bottle of soapy water and some water to rinse the stuff.

 

I use all disposable plates,spoons etc. Do yourself a favor and get the nice stuff you’ll be much happier.
I keep 3-4 gallon jugs of water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth etc. I found that gallon jugs take up less space than bottles and they are refillable if needed.
All my food is either meal prepped or pre cooked, so all I do is warm it up in microwave. I tried an air fryer but I couldn’t deal with the cooking smell it left in my truck.
I keep a cooler with all my frozen stuff and use the ice for my water cup.
All my cold snacks, breakfast and juices are in fridge. Then non perishable I have organizers in my cabinets.
It’ll take ya lil while but you’ll figure it out.
I eat all 3 meals in my truck.
