2023 BMW G 310 GS Rallye in Kalamata Dark Gold Metallic. I went back and forth between too big of a bike, and not big enough with my original idea of a Honda Trail 125.

Think this will be the right combination of weight and power. Now to figure out how to put it on the truck...

Son is on his way to pick it up for me.

Saw this the other day. I would just buy a hitch carrier for motorcycles. Cut off the hitch part and bolt it onto the frame where the catwalk is. Getting it on and off will suck as the bike you want isn’t exactly light.

Hopefully this picture gives you a better idea and you can see the clearance between the bike and the trailer.

That looks like a ##### to get on/off. How do you do it?

Not my truck I don’t know. It’s equipped with an APU on the other side too. I assume he just lifts each end into the catwalk then has a ramp somewhere.

I’ve thought about getting one of those nice electric mountain bikes but there’s no way I’d do a motorcycle.

I've got plenty of room on tge deck plate. I've tossed aroynd the idea of fabbing up a sliding mount, using an air cylinder to lift, then somehow locking onto the deck plate.

I so know if it's a pain to get off and on the truck, it won't get used

Even with a mountain bike, you'd want a cover to keep it clean... that cycle looks like fun. I went through a phase and carted a modified Z50 (with a 140cc Piranha motor and other mods) around in my Camry, and I hauled a 125cc pit bike on a cargo carrier after installing a hitch on the Camry, lol. I'll have to dig up some photos... those little bikes were heller fun, the Z50/140 was a beast on the trail, I called it my little offroad rocket, lol.

Then came the mods which I made myself: Piranha 140cc motor, aluminum swingarm, gold chain, primo aftermarket shocks, extended fork legs and stiffer springs up front, Clarke Racing mini-thumper tank to check fuel level at a glance, ridiculously over-the-top carbon fiber can, etc., etc.

My "quiver" of toys for riding trails and riding at the Show Low Skatepark... o_O

    The pit bike... :D

Assembling the pit bike in my living room in Show Low... why did I assemble a pit bike in my living room, you ask? Because I CAN, lol... ;)

Haven't peeled the protective covers off the graphics yet in that last shot... that rubber on the brand-new carpet is like Internet porn for riders, lol.

P.S. You riders out there, you can see some cool shots in that linked thread... might even be some trail-riding videos there, lol. :)

You rarely see a BMW on a trailer, this is going to be interesting. I had a couple of boxers when I was younger, and they were definitely the kind of bike for riding from state to state instead of covering those miles in a trailer.

Imagine the plastic wear just rubbing on the lines. Imagine the road grime/salt all over the bike. I've had this idea many times. It's really just a dream for me when I actually get into the details. Aside from the hose chaffing I'd also foresee some issues from securement. If you don't have lines/ratchets coming out at a decent angle you'll either have the bike rocking side to side or have a huge load on wherever you're pulling.

Congrats! Reminds me of a ktm type look. That’ll be a lot of fun.
