I don't remember which account I drove, it was either Family Dollar or Dollar General, but it was a MAJOR pain. They told me: "it's just rolling carts off the back of a truck into the store and picking up those same carts filled with recyclable carboard." I was thinking , sounds easy enough. So, I show up at my first stop, pop open the back of the trailer, and out drops some heavy packages. Every single bad grocery cart, with wonky wheels, vertical carts, was packed from top to bottom with packages reaching almost to the top of the inside of the trailer. The truck has a lift gate, so you roll these wonky shopping carts onto the lift gate, holding who knows how much weight, and roll it into the store. Three stops later, I was ready to collapse. I went into Werner, looked my driver manager in the face, and said "I can't hack it. Too old and out of shape." NEVER AGAIN!!!! If you like physical labor, the pay can be better than average dry van. I'll take my drop and hook o/o gig over that any day. If an account is constantly being pushed on new drivers, you know why. And don't even get me started on the location of some of those stores and their wonky docks.

I’m sick of working on this 387 so I’m starting the weekend early. I heard something about a football game. Card games with friends and booze are the evenings entertainment. House boss seems disturbed by the schedule change.

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone stand in the desert.
    Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, and wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that it's sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
    Nothing beside remains.
Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Ozymandias, the poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley

I got home and stripped off and told the HB that I haven’t had a beer since Christmas and it sounds pretty good— she told me to shut up and take a nap

That’s why you have to get the supreme. Veggies make it healthy. Geez…. It’s like you forgot the food pyramid or something.
