I'm driving a 2004 Thomas Bus, 40 ft. Diesel (school bus) that has been converted to a band tour bus. I'm taking a band interstate for a month. Do I need to run an ELD? Do I need to stop at weigh scales?

I agree with runningman0661, but let me ask, what type of tags are on the bus? Also, watch yourself in states such as Maryland, as you approach the scales, the signs states "all vehicles over 5 tons", if I am not mistaken. I drove a private bus for several years for the CEO of a trucking company in Charlotte, NC, It was registered in North Carolina as a RV, I did not keep a log or fall under any FMSCA regulations.

Ok spoke to the owner... its registered as an RV in Georgia..... it is not registered with the FMCSA ... I think I'm good to not keep log books. But I appreciate you're focus and thoroughness on this subject, Grouch. Do you agree with my assessment here?
