What is the difference between GM 4500 and 3500?
    the 4500 has a gvwr of 14200
    the 3500 has a gvwr of 12400

Someone told me the difference only the leaf springs
So, If I get Penske 16ft box truck and that has gvwr of 12400 and change the springs, would it make it g4500? Would I be able to haull more load?
The payload of 3500 is 4300LB
but If ive the 4500, the payload would be 6000lb

The thing is I cant find g4500 for reasonable price to sell

The GVWR is set by the manufacturer. Nothing you add or subtract from the vehicle will change that. Exceeding the number on the door jamb will put you at risk of a ticket from DOT or being automatically at fault in an accident where you are running over the listed GVWR.

My dad has a 3500, it's a 96 so it's GVWR is only 7500 because it has a high gear ratio rear end for "gas mileage". The same truck with a different gear ratio rear end is 10,000 GVWR. But if he changes the rear axle ratio it won't change the GVWR because Chevy set that in 1996.

Same goes for towing capacity. Set by the manufacturer and nothing you can do will change that. Towing capacity and GVWR are linked to your VIN. That's set in stone so all your weights are as well.
