Does anyone know how much time you're allowed to update your license at the dmv once you pass your cdl road test?
The reason I ask is because I want to be my wife's trainer with a trucking company, but they usually want six months solo before becoming a trainer, and also some companies don't let a passenger have a cdl. So I figure we could just hold off on updating her license if that's okay.
Max time between passing road test and updating license at DMV?

In Ca. you test at a DMV office. Assuming you pass, they update you into the system that day, issue you a temp license, and mail you your new license. Not sure about other states.

Why shall it matter if the passenger has a cdl or not?
As long as their not driving as they’re not an employee and not on insurance.
A passenger without a cdl could drive just as easy if that’s what they’re afraid of, as that seems just as shady. -
