    U.S. Navy SEAL Douglas “Mike” Day, who was shot 27 times while deployed in Iraq and survived, passed away on March 27. According to Task & Purpose, Day became an author and wounded-veterans advocate after serving in the U.S. Navy for over two decades.

    The article didn't say. I know of one that died in his sleep on a Navy ship and he was in his 30's if I remember correctly.
    The training they go through their entire active duty career has to take a toll on the body. That's not normal body wear & tear.
