Well I once again am retired. Saw my Orthopedic Sturgeon on Friday and he said my left rotator cuff and shoulder socket are kaput and he will be replacing them a.s.a.p. Hopefully before May/June. My right is not far behind and will be replaced before the end of this year too. No more cranking up trailer landing gear for me.Went and cleaned out my truck this morning. Stick a Prosthetic Device in me, I'm done.

Thats how I retired. Ortho dr said my rigjt shoulder needed a complete reverse replacement. I was in terrible pain. Scheduled surgery asap. Worked until the friday before tuesday surgery. I told my employer I would come back when dr approved. I had 6 months of short term disability insurance. At the end of 6 months dr approved my return but I then needed knee replacement. I had turned 66 at the time and hung up the keys. Wish I had done the surgeries years earlier. Both have been highly sucessful and enjoying retired life for 2 years.

Well you know your truly retired when your downgraded drivers license comes in the mail. I think this is the last milestone in my illustrious career over the highways and biways of America. I enjoyed every mile.

Congratulations Bumper! I know the feeling with the license change. You wonder if you did the right thing. I retired in 2011 after my 44 years OTR and really don't miss the drama and all the anxiety.
