Hidden Mics were once a thing in trucking. But they aren’t trying to hide anything anymore, they put the cams, mics, computers right in the drivers face since they know most Truck Drivers don’t value their own dignity.

So if you really want to piss off your manager have Bloodhound Gang “hooray for b***ies” playing on repeat. Then take a drink to set off the camera at the beginning of every song. By the time i got to the third iteration of song 16 on the album my manager called and said the music was inappropriate. It might have been me staring into the camera meaningfully each time.
I have a whole playlist of inappropriate songs lined up.

Any more suggestions for the "P***ing off the Safety Critter" playlist?

How about "Killing in the Name" by Rage Against the Machine?

Dignity? I'm paid $2000 a week, no touch freight, home every weekend with a driver facing Lytx cam in my face every mile.

    My dignity is quite intact.

There is a reasonable expectation of privacy, especially during off duty hours.
The cameras stay on all the time.

My company had driver facing cameras for about a year, then they went away.
There is a story as to why, pertaining to the expectation of privacy during off duty hours and the company that monitors the video.
    Quite colorful.
Might be true, or not. I have other suspicions as well. But at some point the corporate big wigs decided that driver facing cameras and audio were no longer a wise (or perhaps legal) option.

The notion that because one simply works for a company it lets the company do anything they want is false.

Gotta disagree on the last part, I say Truck drivers undervalue their dignity.

You’ve sold your dignity for $2000 per week.

You may find it to be a good deal. I just disagree.

because if I have to put up with the camera beeping every time I scratch, drink, look at a mirror, change a radio station, and talk for more than 30 seconds (I listen to audio books so it beeps every 3 minutes) over a 9 hour period (that’s over 180 times a drive) he can listen to my Swedish death music while I scratch myself.

Now I’m all for OUTWARD FACING cameras. Put as many as you want on the truck. I would probably not care about an inward facing nanny cam if it didn't have a light, screen, and noise to micromanage my drive.

The Truman show. I remember that. Wasn't it a documentary on the effects of surveillance on people?
