Hello, I’m currently looking for an Austin/Temple local job opportunity that would grant me class A experience. I ultimately would like to haul fuel, but it seems I need at least a year or two of class A experience first.

Do you know of any positions/companies that will hire new grads for class A work?

    Thank you

For liquid tanker work, try Liquid Environmental Solutions or Wastewater Transport Solutions.

I don't know if Skinner (Sti) requires experience or not, but they haul asphalt in tankers so if you can get in with them that would be a great way to set yourself up for a fuel hauling career later.

And if you don't mind getting some non-tanker experience, there's lots of companies in the Austin area that will hire you to drive an end dump / belly dump. And there are some companies in the area that run pneumatic tankers hauling lime and cement.

You can try any of the big construction companies, any of the concrete companies, or any of the companies at the link below that haul out of Texas Crushed Stone.

You might be best served heading to an oilfield outfit and attaining 1-2 years of tanker experience. Start by hauling water, then move up to crude. Work a 5-2 schedule, live there during the week and have 2 days at home in-between 5-day stints. You might even find you like hauling crude more than fuel, it surely pays a lot better (I made an easy 6-figures hauling crude a decade ago, and I only worked about 44 weeks that year).
