It's especially relevant in the city since they make so many bridges 13'6" and thus make routing "impossible".

Everybody has their pet theory as to why but I've never seen anything official.

I remember trying to download and view the PDF for truck routes. That thing is a monster and is near impossible to run. I'm lucky since I deliver the same few places all the time in the Bronx and it's easy enough.

FWIW, I used to come from NJ to go to shippers on LI, and I'd use the Outerbridge, cross Staten Island, then take the Ginny Gangplank to the BQE, then to the LIE. I'm sure the BQE is a royal mess right now, though....

Truck companies are supposed to know where and how to make it to their destination even if it means going the long way.

Has Port Jarvis moved? Since it’s only about 2 hours north of the city

Plus, if you're a moving company, you're not a thru truck, you're a delivery truck.
    Big difference
