What regular (hazmat) tanker jobs do you think would be most likely to allow a passenger? What do you do with the passenger when the inevitable customer says they're not allowed in?
Companies that only run the great plains?

If your company allows a passenger in the truck and you get to a customer that doesn't allows passengers inside the plant, customers usually will make that passenger wait in one of two areas. Some customers make the passenger wait at the "guard shack" which may or may not have a waiting room or break room for the guards. Other customers will require the passenger to wait in the room where the driver waits while the employees load/unload the trucks. This can be a dedicated waiting room for drivers or more often the driver waits in the employee break room/lunchroom. On occasion I had a few customers require me to search the truck cab/sleeper when entering their property. Mostly this would be running a mirror under the truck, looking for a hidden bomb, open the hood looking for the same. and some did the outside search and a brief look into the sleeper where they would check for a hidden person in a closet or bunk.
HazMat tanker is much less likely to allow passengers/kids/pets to ride along compared to most other sectors of trucking. Food grade tanker is likely to not be as strict as HazMat. -
It was not mentioned in the load assignment notes, but it was in the directions after I accepted the load.
They were strict about it. The passenger could not be on the property at all.
I was asked to leave my 12 year old daughter off at a truck stop or 'somewhere' while I picked up the load, then go back to get her.
Well, NO!.
It ended with me refusing to pick up the load.Still undecided, homeskillet, Grumppy and 2 others Thank this. -
Be sure and get all the health insurance details before making any moves.
