I know exactly what you mean! Every day every night I'm planning on how to get it done and routing and hours of operation at different shippers and receivers. Also I have found that I have become a very extreme two-lane trucker.

There is a 34 page list of products that are and aren’t considered exempt. The MAP21 exemption is well worth learning about and learning how to use it. I used Motive ELD and all I did was log off duty PC any time I was exempt, with a note in the comments “MAP21 Ag Exempt”.
When I pulled pneumatic our loads back to SW Kansas were exempt. I’d unload the food grade load then go off duty as soon as I hit my 150 mile radius of where I was loading. Then I’d load and drive almost to the edge of the radius again but then I’d stop and nap. I usually only had to nap about 3 hours and my 10 would be done and I could go to on duty driving for the rest of the trip. Unload, get washed out, go to Hutch and load food grade, and take my ten there. Or we could go back exempt and run feed salt from Lyons back to SW Kansas off duty. Sometimes I’d do 3 rounds of salt to get a 34 in if I was up against my 70.
I can’t imagine people hauling Ag products and not using the best tool available to them.Jubal Early Times Thanks this. -

Hopper is a long way from no touch freight. Add in long lines and wait times while 4 trucks in front of you are beating DDG, or rice bran out of their wagon. Many places you load yourself always unload yourself. When I ran one it was truck all night to be first in line to unload or close, so that I could make it in time to wash out usually outta route to be checked in somewhere by 3 or 330 so I could get reloaded just to do it all over again. I could have been doing it wrong idk but that’s how it worked for me usually
