Cb receives but cant talk out

    No i dont have a swr meter all i used for the swr meter is the one thats built in. so your saying the rg-58 is good for cb's but need bigger for ham. Also would any one know why the needle dont move i was reading some other forums and i have hear other corba 29's that the meter stopped working.

    The size of cable you have is fine.. and I assume you still hear others..and yes the meters do dies sometimes.. make sure mic gain is up..an your not on PA or something.. lol.. make sure RF gain is up..and if it has RF power make sure it is up..

    I run RG-58 all the way up to 6 meters but as it goes bad i'm replacing it with rg-8x RG-58 will handle several hunderd watts at least 100 TIMES what you run on cb. RG-58 cost about the same as RG-8X which is slightly better but not worth changing coax out unless the old cable is 10 years old or more. You can see several RG-58 jumpers in the photo.

    See if you can borrow a meter.

    Will my rg-58 coax support it if i add a rfx75

    I would say it would be fine.. but WA4GCH could answer that better... an he wont preach the obvious :)

    The RG-58 will be fine with the RFX-75,just make sure your antenna is tuned properly.

    yeah i think im going to go to radio shack and get a 102'' whip and ground it really good.

    Nothing beats a 102 inch wip with a good ground.
