Good advice. What the driver brought to us was a good story. What he needs to give a prospective employer is a short, honest answer. Don't turn an interview into an episode of "Appalachian Emergency Room". Save the long story for the driver's break room...

You’re off to a good start in trucking. You’ll tell this story many times in your career no doubt.

In the future, if you next perspective employer wants you to do class C team deliveries for x number of weeks as part of training, don't walk, RUN, the other direction!!!... they were using you for cheap labor for something that has nothing to do with what you were hiring on for! It's downright shameful the crap some of these "carriers" do while on boarding new drivers now..... and for the love of God DON'T go to Swifty, or Prime or any other Mega's like you mentioned. Yes, you'll need to pay your dues and get some experience under your belt before you find the right fit for you in this industry, but there are other ways to obtain that experience without being trained by a "trainer" that just got off his trainers truck a year or less ago!... good luck too ya, do your homework and ask lots of questions.

    CALL THE COPS!!

Let them arrest the pos driver and get him off the road.

This isn't a grey area, the company may not do a thing about it, the cops will.

You have more faith in cops than most of us. I'd have done the same, especially as happy as some are to write citations regardless of innocence.

Calling the local cops is a waste

Making a call to the next scale up the interstate , would be more effective .

I don’t drive big trucks anymore
But I clock a lot of miles inna service truck ,
I have the numbers of all the scales in my state saved in my phone ,
If I see some driver doing something really unsafe like running someone off the road or constantly weaving because they are watching a movie with the phone sitting on the steering wheel , and they do it more than once ,
I make the call, with the truck name , color , etc .
drifting once because they are lighting a cigarette or opening a soda I don’t consider a safety hazard , if they keep weaving and drifting or doing 80 mph tailgating three feet behind a car , that’s a safety issue .

Then I upload the video from my dashcam to YouTube and email a link to the companies safety department.
