Failed drug screen, can I use my new authority?

    Good afternoon everyone, just a quick question. I hope someone could help me out. I am a owner operator for over 3 years now. I've been leasing my truck under an Employer. I just fail my drug screening for Narcotic 1/Edible Marijuana about a month ago and unable to get my job back. I am currently trying to get my own/operating authority. Does anyone know if I'm going to be able to book loads from the shippers, dispatching service companies, or and load boards regarding my violation? Will they be able to find out or look into my record even if I am my own boss/OWNER OPERATOR/OWN-OPERATING AUTHORITY? Will there be any issue regarding my violation as an OWNER OPERATOR/OWN AUTHORITY?

    Nope. All of us with our own Authority have to have the same Drug & Alcohol program that employees do. Including the Clearinghouse.

    Not sure if insurance will be able to see that you failed. That will be your biggest hurdle.

    The authority won't be a problem if you can get insurance

    Getting your authority has nothing to do with your cdl. You don't need a cdl to get MC.
