Doesnt suprise me. They had a few trucks in town last time i came through doing more local stuff. They have been bounceing me around TX and CO a lot recently though. Mostly because im the crazy dude that likes to stay out 3 to 6 weeks at a time. Though my next load goes out to #### cago so bleah. Hate going there, though its hard to argue with the pay

Come to SD, there are loads up here, the food is good and we have really good beer. Though dont play cards with the local sasquatch population. They cheat.

Well sounds like I’ll be right there with you before long I guess we got a whole bunch of salt contracts for Colorado this year. And dude Chicago sucks. I mean I’ve had it pretty lucky and always go right off Torrence Ave. to like SH Bell or ELG or something, which is easy to get to but it’s still a pain. However I have been to one in Calumet City that was an absolute nightmare.

Been sitting a lot. Layed over on weekend an then 12 hrs to get empty at orangeburg. 5 hrs yesterday to get loaded. Now 4th truck in line to get empty in Ohio. Truck didn't do well revenue wise cuz of the down time. I'll do alright as I've racked up 525 bucks so far in layover an detention pay. Gonna pick up seed tomorrow an then go pick up my new puppy. Then home till Sunday afternoon.

Weeks like that are a bummer. Luckily it sounds like they are few and far between. Be sure to post pics of Professor Pup!

My wife an I along with our 10 yr old Nova have welcomed Jack into the family. The other pup i was going to get was skittish an not one for people. To the point it seemed like maybe something was wrong temperment or health wise. Jack was the runt an we hit it off immediately. He rode home 460 miles no problem. 20231014_120640.jpg 20231014_120610.jpg

What do y’all go by on the radio? Years ago when I first started with the company I’m at now I was a garbage hauler and every afternoon after my last load was emptied out, I’d kick off my work shoes and slip on my flip flops for the ride home (I know, I know….flip flops) either way that’s stuck for all of these years and those that know me well call me “Flip Flop”.

I originally had the handle of no name. Was following one of my training drivers down to St louis on my 1st solo rin in 94 an he asked if I had a handle an i said no. So he said we'll call ya No-name then. Later on in 97 my buddies where i was pulling end dump started calling me Professor cuz I always had a theory about everything.

Pretty cool background story @Professor No-Name, I had a guy pass me a few weeks back, actually blew my doors off, then slowed down and paced me, I noticed he was taking a photo, I'm like " well crap, what did I do wrong?". I have Flip Flop on my drivers door, he grabs for the mic and said "he had a buddy around Atlanta that goes by Flip Flop, and had to snap a photo to show he's not the only one" :) I got a kick out of it and we both had a good chat and laugh about it, not too many old school guys around like that anymore, I have a lot of coworkers that I simply know by their handle and not their names, a few off the top of my head.....Ghost Rider, Yankee, Shadow, Cur Dog, Biscuit, the list goes on, and handful of our rock drivers I literally only know them by their handle, I couldn't tell you their name if you asked me.

My trainer at Millis back in 1994 called me "stretch" because I'm so tall.

Now I just go by "Big Mike" because I'm still tall..
