I have a TriPac APU that does both AC and heat, never had any experience with a bunk heater.

What do you guys do in the evenings while you’re on the road to help occupy the downtime? We have epicvue for some of our trucks, mine included, but I find watching tv and being lazy on my overnighters doesn’t stimulate the mind much? Also, what kind of hobbies occupy your time out of the truck? I used to love to ride motocross but unfortunately a tough shoulder injury put the brakes on that a few years back, I just turned 40 and find myself doing not much of anything on the weekends, it would be nice to find something to occupy the time.

During the week i normally don't have a lot of down time. I like to read news an google random stuff. I like history and study a lot of fallen companies. The dog will be going with this week so I'll probably be spending a lot of time training him and generally being active with him. If i stay out over a weekend i use that time for cab cleaning an polishing. At home I like working in the yard. We spend a lot of time with the grand kids too. Thought about getting back into building model cars.

I usually max out my 70 and get sunday with part od saturday off just with the nature of my loads. Usually by the time ive done my laundry, cleaned my cab, done my weekly grease job, done any minor maintaince, eaten and showered, then sit down and enter in all my quickbooks crap and so on ive eaten up a good 7 or 8 hours. For the rest i usually read a book, play a video game, chat with family, solve puzzles or tweek the design of the place im wanting to build. Also spend a lot of time watching how-to videos.

Bit off topic though. Ugh how do those hotshot drivers do it? I ran my tahoe down to my sister-in-law with my ram since the wreck destroyed their only car. And sure its only an 23 hour round trip but my back is killing me. And i adore my ram usually since its usually so comfortable. And i dont normally have any issues lol. Then again i also dont usually do 13 hours driving in one shot.

Oh well whats really funny is i only drove 1400 miles....and thats more miles then ive put on my ram in the last 3 years....combined. there is a reason a 2012 1 ton only has 37k miles on it lol.

How long do you stay gone @Arctic_fox i have this feeling that one of these days we’ll all end up at Huron valley shooting the breeze, so far the only bones trucks I’ve seen weren’t you, and the JK trucks weren’t @motocross25

During the summer and fall 5 to 6 weeks. During winter i stay out until i start running out of #### that i cant replace on the road easily like bed plastic or calcium chloride super concentrate.

But yea i know what you mean. ive run across @motocross25 ONCE and waved back when he was with the other compamy. But we didnt know it at the time and didnt talk. Otherwise i never get to meet anyone on the road lol. Would be nice to put names to faces.

Man you're a road warrior, I used to see a guy quite regularly in Florida that was leased on to Bones, nice maroon Pete out of Alabama, he had chains for the west so that tells me he probably turns the miles like you and goes wherever the freight takes him.

Maroon plasic pete like mine or maroon 379? If the former he is out of GA so stays down south a lot.

And nahh im just too stuborn to give up on my business :p once i get things fully stable with a new engine and tranny + Axles and fully debt free im likely going to settle back a bit into something less crazy. I want to gey to a point i can take 6ish months off and go attend cats diesel and EV mechanic course and get my diesel tech degree.

One of my secret long term goals is to make custom 1 off semis as part of my "retirement" package then just do dump work in the summers for fun and profit.

Sounds like a good goal in mind, and as far as the coworker I used to see a lot, it was a nice 379.
