Get CDL then apply to UPS.
Probably start out as package delivery, then move up. It's easier to jump to the $170G driving job when you're already an employee there. The package delivery drivers are Teamsters, so your seniority is building from there.

The $170G is with the tractor-trailer drivers. Package delivery also make great money and you'll probably start there.

I know a young couple in Tennessee, where I'm from, and they both are with UPS. Both drive tractor-trailers, so are each making $170,000.00 range. They're a young married couple in their 20's.

In the current flabby freight environment -- many carriers are now more picky about who they hire -- and why.

With the above in mind -- that 120-hour CDL course you're taking may well come back later to bite you in the caboose. :banghead: :violent1:

Most carriers will probably want you to finish up at a school that is rated for at least 160 hours.

The bottom line: don't give potential CDL carriers a good reason to pass you over for other more qualified candidates.
