Your miles depend on how hard you want to run, not with how new you are.
    Well, usually.
Most companies want you to run as hard as you can. Burn your hours driving and making miles, often at the expense of safety and your well being.

What company are you going with that would limit your miles because you are a new driver?

Chinatown and Bud A. Thank this.

Definitely is the reason why I don't wanna do local driving. South Carolina drivers are awful and it's even worse here in Myrtle Beach during tourist season

    Chinatown Thanks this.

I haven't applied to any company yet. Still doing research on companies and haven't started CDL school yet. Looking at starting between March-June. The school I'm going to said I would start around 2,000-2,500

I'm looking at applying at Averitt, Schneider, or Werner. Looking at the reviews on here. Averitt seems to have the best ratings and best treatment, pay, and PTO/Holidays then the other 2 companies

What about the other dozen or so we posted? You'll need all the endorsements.

Just because you'll be a new driver shouldn't affect the miles. One of my first runs was to California to pick up a load of bales of wool. It was a Freymiller load they couldn't cover. Took the load to North Carolina. I was at 80,000 lbs with full fuel tanks.
Pulling reefers is good because you can haul dry van loads or refrigerated loads or mild hazmat loads such as paint. This way you don't have to wait on loads because of the trailer you pull.
Averitt is probably the best dry van company. @tscottme can fill you in on that.

Those 3 are who the school works with and will recruit out of that school. They got a few other companies too but haven't seen anything good about them on here recently

That's why I asked about miles. I know companies will be different than others but she was the only one to ever mention how many miles you'll get a week so wanted to ask experienced drivers so I could get clarification on that.

If you're set on one of those 3, then go with Averitt. @tscottme will be on here soon and will clarify.

    Ryan0077 Thanks this.

Would you recommend going to a CDL school or tech/community College to get CDL?
