Up in Jersey, back in the 80’s …around ‘inspection’ time we used to take the oversized wheels off and put some stock wheels to roll through inspection. Then put your good wheels back on. Always looked funny to see a lifted truck riding around with some tiny wheels on it….
    Maybe something like that!?

I e been thinking this way too… 57 now… but how much longer do I want to do this… think I may be happier driving a city garbage truck and home every night…

Truck threw up another transmission fault again this morning and was fixed by cycling the ignition. Both times it has happened in a yard while putting the truck in reverse, both times have thankfully been fixed just by stopping and cycling ignition. Only one time I usually just chalk it up to a minor glitch or something. But two times deserves a call to Shane tomorrow morning to see if there’s something going on

When I went to dart in 1987 they were hard to get on with .
Everyone had to go thru professional driver improvement course and following distance was the law ....at least 8 seconds....if ya didn't you were fired and Gary Markel safety services kept an eye on us .
Today's driver is flat on the floor following distance be dammed and run to crash .

My KW does something similar and always has. In the mornings when I’m putting it in gear for the first time, it will toss up a transmission error. So, like you did, I stop everything, put on the air brakes, shut it down for a few minutes… wait a bit… and restart and she’s good for anywhere from another day to two months. No rhyme or reason, just tends to have an occasional bad morning.
