It is a problem, I was doing 65 in a 50. I've been a professional driver since 1996. I was not ticketed as reckless, just 15 over.
All company's will treat any ticket 15 +1 over mph as reckless..
It does not matter that 200 feet down the street it changed to 55 MPH. I'm a professional driver, and I have to own it. I was doing 65 in a 50, and the ticket reflects that. I don't want to incriminate myself, but I had somewhere to be.
It was a nice exchange between the NC Sherriff and I, I owned to it, he wrote the ticket and I was on my way.
It just sucks that I screwed my 20 year CDL for the next 3 years...
I'm 49 yoa, so I can't get another job so quick.
Best choice for a 3 year EXP Tanker Driver Owner OP, with a 15MPH ticket?

I got a POV 15 over in OK. $500 and a couple phone calls got it changed to no taillight. Money well spent IMO77fib77 and viper822004 Thank this. -
@KDHCryo you’re gonna have to find a way to get that reduced or cleared bud.
The tanker game is really really stringent on the rules and insurance rules, and that ticket essentially black lists you as a driver.
Start blowing up the phone to find a way to change it, whatever it costs you.
If you drop a grand getting it reduced or changed to something innocuous, it’s money well spent.
It opens the door to making many times what you spent on it. -

Thanks for the replies so far, I may have to switch over out of tanker freight for a few years.

Update for future reference if this question gets asked again.
I contacted an attorney who practices in the same county of the violation. For $1000 retainer fee, they can re-open the ticket (case), even though it was finalized. Attorney can seek a prayer for judgment from the court, which should reduce the violation. The attorney feels that, since this is my only violation in 10 years MVR history, it will be reduced to 10 mph over, or less, depending on the mood of the DA and/ or judge. I will have to appear in court, which I will happily do. All though nothing is 100% certain, the attorney feels very confident.
Thank you to all the forum members who responded and gave me advice on how to handle this situation. I will update again once I get through court.BlueThunderr, kemosabi49, HoneyBadger67 and 1 other person Thank this. -
