So many folks resort to meds to push down their blood pressure instead of fixing the problem itself that causes the elevated pressure. If your body has high blood pressure it is because that is what the body needs it at. So forcing it down with a drug means that person now two problems, inflammation and lower pressure than what is required.

I do not know personally of any diabetic drivers but being there is over 30 million in the United States alone I am certain it has caused a gigantic amount of carnage. You doing a college project on diabetes?

There’s plenty of overweight people that don’t have type 2 diabetes. My Brother in law has never been overweight and has type 2. There is no cure for type 1 or type 2. There’s behavior modification that can help control symptoms, reduce high blood suger events, and help lower A1C levels. I’ve been taking Metformin now for about a year. Lost about 35 lbs. Aside from going on a few no food binges while working on my Truck. Haven’t changed my diet habits much. The difference is , the medication is helping me utilize insulin better. Allowing my pancreas to convert carbs into energy, Must have had some insulin resistance?? Don’t know. But before the Metformin it was all but impossible to lose weight. Never was a problem, when I was younger to eat less and drop 10-15lbs. It’s encouraging, trying to drop another 10-15lbs now. Be the same weight I was as a teenager. Never thought I’d ever be overweight back then. Eat anything I wanted. Lol. It’s just age. Not everything works as good as it used to. Beats the alternative.

    Yes.

There was one in Chicago a decade or so back, the driver had low blood sugar because of the med reacting too fast and he didn't eat anything that morning, passed out, and ran into a building, almost killed, when the fire personnel pulled him out, one of them said they had to do a glucose test and it showed something like 23.

Another was in Detroit about 12 years ago, and almost the same thing happened, the driver passed out, ran a red light, and plowed into a landscaping truck.

Contrary to what others claim, you can't cure it, nor does it ever go away. Some people claim losing weight does it while others say a strick diet will work but the truth is, once it starts it is there FOR MOST people.

There are exemptions. A lot of people can lose weight watch their diet and no longer need meds. My Mother did it and she was about 67 yrs old at the time. Following the Mediterranean diet. I honestly wouldn’t have believed it , except I saw her bloodwork results. Cholesterol was also way down to normal levels. I also know a Dispatcher at a Brokerage who has Type 1 and controls it without using any Insulin at all. He’s a very rare case. He’s a Professional Fighter, and eats very healthy, with exact portions. Then he exercises soon afterwards to burn off the carbs. That’s almost impossible for most people. Very disciplined. Same with high BP. Some people can lose weight, stop smoking, start exercising and get off meds. Others may lower it some, and overall get healthier and still need meds. Usually because of Arteriosclerosis or enlarged heart or some other condition. Everyone’s different.
