Sweet Express, had a friend get let go from the company I’m with for holding his phone, and they obviously dinged him on the way out the door because he had a hard time finding a job, Sweet picked him up and he’s going on year 6 with them.

 

Where in the Midwest?

It sounds like it’s probably just policy of just the companies you’ve applied at .Just keep applying to different companies.

 

I’m not trying to downplay an HOS violation. But there must’ve been other factors involved. Most drivers will go over by at least a few minutes a couple times a year. They get a message reminder it’s pre-typed from safety and that’s about the end of it. Even if your hours were pulled by troopers or DOT, if you just have a couple times that you went over by a few minutes they don’t bother with it. My thoughts are you probably had other options and just chose to keep driving probably for something that was convenient to you? Not judging, just curious, because I’ve never heard of a driver being fired for going over one time like that.

 

Exactly right. If you follow the back trail on some of the reasons for being fired they almost always are the culmination of a series of events.
