Glad your husband is doing good and likes his job , many do and its hard for some to realize it.

So WOLFPACK67 anyone can BRAG on the $ they make as a team with Landstar compared to a driver with CRE.

Wanta bet I make a bigger pile of it than you and I dont have to drive all over the USA to do it.

Been there done the SPECIAL stuff for LANDSTAR ( still have steady loads to Military Bases ) but make more $ with my own show.

    sillymom2three Thanks this.

If the driver is happy along with their family, <that is the biggest plus in this industry being married, no matter who you drive for or how much money you make. It's a hard discussion to argue. :biggrin_25515:

Thank you. If he was miserable, then It would be a different story. But he's happy, and he loves to drive, so I dont think it would matter who it was for, as long he didnt have to sit a lot..LOL...

I do wish he could find a 2nd seat he likes, he's test drove a few..lol. I told him he needs to let me meet them, I know in 5 mins if he will like them. :biggrin_2559:

What do you consider alot of $? I bet when you figure out how many hours he works per week he is actually making less than minimum wage per hour. I am guessing he does not know anywhere else.

He's been driving for 12 years this isn't his first job. He's worked for Prime, and some smaller companies. His take home pay is $800 to $1000 a week. Min Wage is $8.00 or so... So I am thinking not.. :biggrin_25526:

If the man is satisfied with his job, his wife is happy the bills are getting paid, let it be. Don't poke a sleeping bear with a stick.

Theres that kind all over , I had a coffee this morning it was good , another guy had 1 and did nothing but GRIPE about it , asked me 3 times if mine was ok .

I said I like it , I'm satisfied with it and I'm happy but you might not be if I gave it to you.

All I got was a DUMB look and off he went to bother 2 other people.

Jobs are the same but some just do not get it , what suits some may not suit everyone and they just cannot let it alone.

You are Silly! (LOL) Your Man must be the Exception. There are plenty of Good Paying jobs but to say he Loves his Job is Silly, Why would any man leave a good wife and three young children behind so that he can run roads around the country pulling a 53 ft Reefer? Especially when it can be Boring and Lonely at times and Wrecks Havoc on the Mind and Body.... We do for the Money!

Sure We enjoy driving in the morning after a good sleep but we all know that the days are long and the nights can be even longer... and at the end of a 500 mile day, your staring at the log book trying to figure out how to get 200 more miles so can be On-Time to your appointment (getting OLD really fast).. Been there and done t so many time I cant remember them all.

I wrote previously most big Fleet Operators promise you a lot but end the end it's all about Them.. I wish you and your family the best and hope your Husband much sucess Driving.

I used to complain because I had no shoes --- until
I met a man who had no feet.

    When I attended a banquet for a Big truck truck driver's 35-years
with the same truckin' company, he was asked to come up to the podium
to say a few words and answer a couple of questions.
During that Q&A period he mentioned that the only thing he'd done longer
was staying married to the same woman for 45-years.

Someone in the audience asked him how he managed to stay married that long.
He answered, "I owe my long marriage to Big truck truckin'."
Explaining further, "If I had a regular job, --- home every night,
I'm sure we'd have been divorced about 44-years ago."

Wealth is not always measured in dollars and cents. :biggrin_25512:

It's been said that if one enjoys doin' somethin' and can make a
    career out of doin' that,
they'll never work a day in their life.

Any of y'all know what it's like to wake up and not hear that little
voice in y'all's head sayin', Awww _______! <---- (insert favorite cuss word) Gotta go to work. ?

I wouldnt drive for them again, the bigest problem I have is that the only way to make money is to run Team!!! The catch to that is that You are placing Your life in someone elses hands. Someone with what, a grand total of maybe 2 mths. experiance.

The way it worked when I was there was that trainers only had to be with the company 2 or 3 mths. to become a trainer, so You have 2 people with very little experience driving an 80000 pound truck, does nothing to inspire confidence in My book. Not to mention We had a phone Meeting in May I think because the company was way High in accidents, mostly roll overs! Like 14 in the first 4 or 5 mths of the year.

If You are happy, I am happy for You. But with 20 + Years behind the wheel and More miles than most of Englands Instructors, actually more than all the instructors at the Dallas school put together. I just dont feel comfortable with it.

    D. Drive Safe...
