I knew it was only a matter of before this would happen with the way these idiots drive-through parking lots…

IMG_4849.png IMG_4850.png Last spot on the right before the curve has always been my favorite.. time to rethink where I park.

Guessing he didn’t go through the weight station and took the rest area off ramp. Absolutely nothing slowing you down before the curve inside the rest area. Regardless if the driver had a medical issue that rest area needs a redesign or some speed bumps,.

Just another tragic story that never should have happened.

This is just f****** great, now we’re probably going to have MCCD sitting in rest areas just waiting to do inspections as soon as trucks pull in to stop (Ohio).

    Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

What does GA have to do with Ohio..... and since WHEN did Ohio need an excuse? Don't they do inspections at rest areas anyway? If so many drivers didn't do stupid ####, we wouldn't have to worry about it so much.

I mentioned Ohio because that state is known for doing inspections at the rest areas-especially along I-70 between Columbus and the West Virginia state line.
Now I haven’t seen Georgia MCCD do anything like that (yet)-usually they just stick to the weigh stations. But after this wreck I wouldn’t be surprised if they switched tactics and started doing the same thing!

Flat Earth Trucker and drvrtech77 Thank this.

I guess I forgot that MCCD was the GEORGIA motor carrier cops... been so long since I have had to actually talk to any of them.... or anyone else for that matter. I even got pulled in at the Banning scales out in CA Two months ago... my truck was FILTHY and my trailer pigtail had been pulled out of the socket in a SHARP turn, coming out of the Morongo Casino. He had me plug it back in, checked my lights, and wrote me a clean inspection. We kinda BS a bit, and he asked me if I had ever heard that California will give you a REAL thorough inspection if your truck isn't REAL CLEAN. I said that I have heard drivers say all kinds of stupid ####. But I don't do my job any differently based on what someone else is scared of.

I have a friend who is a retired California DOT truck inspector. One of the non sworn guys that do inspections at the scales. I asked him about the clean/dirty truck thing. He asked me which would I rather crawl under to inspect, a clean or dirty truck. I said clean. He said me too.
That thing does keep the truck washes in Barstow busy though.
