Because there's less traffic, less chance that the coops will be open, and it's MUCH easier to find a parking spot at 5AM than at 5PM.

I'm an official "Certified Supertrucker". You know how you get Supertrucker Certification? Swift has to back into you at a truck stop.

I sleep with either white noise or soft music playing, I don’t even hear the outside noises.

I'm gonna have to get me one of those waterfall machines or something like my grandkids have. I usually don't start hearing noises till about four in the morning so that may work.

You could buy one of my Reefer Teddy Bears. They look just like a reefer that you can hug. Complete with 7 sound settings. Including idle too!

    Numb and RockinChair Thank this.

I have an app on my iPhone called White Noise. It has a bunch of different sounds, from white noise to surf, electric fan, railroad, rain, etc. I have it play through the truck stereo.

I know all about the nighttime driving, I didn’t to cause I wanted to, but that was my shift, 8 pm start, and back at the terminal 6am-ish. Not doing that again. I’ll stock shelves at the HEB before going back to driving every night, all night.

Yes it is, actually. If I can avoid paying 15 or more dollars for a shower, I'm certainly doing so. I'll just shower when the truck stop isn't quite as full. The major truck stops have all the resources. Some mom and pops do as well, but the major truck stops provide a level of convenience. For instance, if you deliver to Walmart in Pageland, SC, there is a Love's right across the street. There is also a couple of smaller truck stops north of there. One has no amenities whatsoever. The other, I want to say has a small eatery, but I can't remember. Love's has showers, food, coffee, fuel, whatever resources you need. It's convenient to park there if you're delivering to the Walmart. If the mom and pops lack resources, they won't bring in too many drivers. That's just what it is.
