Thought about vaping when I quit. Decided I wasn't gonna substitute one expensive habit for another. Good luck on quitting. You can do it.

The will to quit happens when you really believe that a single cigarette is bad for you. Takes about 9 to 12 months before you can pour first cup of coffee in morning without thinking a smoke would be nice. After a week of not thinking about cigarettes with morning coffee that’s when I knew that this quit is permanent. I hope everyone on the journey of quitting finds the strength and has understanding friends.

smoked them all, expensive af, lungs full of garbage, 90% of the habit is just having something on fire to play with an oral fixation

nicotine, caffeine, cocaine, masturbation, none of them are additive processes, they all work by chemical dumping juice your brain already has in it. they suck. that's what feels good. with zyn i literally can't stop until I have permanent hiccups and forget how to swallow. it's dumb af, sucked dry. 12 hours cold turkey and i feel euphoria like a titan as the dopamine tanks start refilling. id rather keep my juice. u know what is additive? FOOD. and sleep.

when you start to go crazy in withdrawal, if you would actually move under that physical compulsion, maybe after a while ur body wouldn't be in the train wreck state that it's in. u seen how bonkers energetic recovered alcoholics always are? withdrawal rage is the other pole of chemical magnetism, black fuel, just steer it

3 packs a day, who did you think you were, Jack Webb? He quit cold turkey too, when it killed him. Chuck Connors reportedly smoked 2-3 packs a day. I was thinking about that, you'd have to practically have a lit cigarette whenever awake. Amazing how the body can take that for so many years.

A very long time ago as a 20 a day man I found an old pipe in a drawer left over from schoolboy experiments. I thought I would give it a go and bought an ounce of tobacco. Hated every minute of it, it was too hot in my throat and gave me inndigestion, but, because I was so mean I refused to stop until I finished the ounce.

Never felt the need for anything other than food in my mouth again, and certainly not cigarettes. That was I reckon about 50 years ago and I have never been tempted, though once with a new girlfriend I joined her in a smoke after a meal. This happened 3 times but I didn't inhale and gave it up completely when I realised how stupid it was setting fire to money without any pleasure involved.

Advice based on my experience? Do something really horrible with your mouth for a week or so and see how you feel. ;-)

Took me 3 attempts before It took.
After 35 yrs of cigarettes I went cold turkey 14 years ago.
    It was time.
Still get the craving in certain situations
but don't think that will ever leave me.

If I can get past the first cup of coffee in the morning without smoking a cigarette, I'm fine for the rest of the day.
If I weaken and smoke the first one I'll probably smoke all day.
So far, close to year of not picking up that first one every morning.
The craving never goes away. I truly believe that.
