Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Dropped my Volvo load on the yard Sat in WM and took a 34 that got extended til Tuesday being my check engine light came on again and the WM shop was slammed so didn’t get looked at til end of the day Monday. They think it is the EGR sensor, said next time Im through have my DM let them know so they can order the part. Got a New Castle load put on me but that got messed up being they loaded it onto some else’s trailer for some reason and had to unload it and put it onto ours so didn’t get out of Forrest City until 10 Tuesday morning and to New Castle at 2130. Got the Dania Beach BH on me now for Friday 0600. Hoping to get to Fort Pierce and find a spot 1330 tomorrow being that is when I’ll get there. Spending the night on the Knight yard in Atlanta tonight.

 

Is that yard still right next door to the hooker hotel?

 

Yeah, still next to a hotel I wouldn’t want to step foot in, lol!

 

I am definitely grateful for the tall fences around that yard.

 

I once saw a person go under a tree up on the hill there and come out wearing different clothes. I also heard that a Crete truck got stolen while parked at a hotel there.

 

Well that was a mess at Dania Beach this morning….left Fort Pierce Loves at 0400 and got to BH at 0545 and the other two trucks were still there…first one got empty little after 0600 and the second one a little after 0800 and I didn’t get empty until 1100. Ended up with 3 hrs detention pay. Poor kid that unloaded me and handed my paperwork back had this scared look on his face as he handed over the paperwork to me and wimpered he was sorry and that he was short handed, etc….. I must have had angry drill instructor face and he was probably afraid I was going to tear his behind off, lol! I understand being a lot of places are shorthanded but common sense oughta tell one to stagger the trucks out more than an hour apart if it is going to take two to unload or maybe different days of the week if possible. Oh well, crap happens out here. Got sent to Jacksonville Volvo to drop my reefer and grab a load to KC in Beech Island for tomorrow then pick up a load there to Shoemakersville for Monday. Im going to try and get to the Richmond yard tomorrow and squeeze in a 34 and hit up Walmart.

 

5 day 4 night all exclusive trip to the car dealership,will be dealing with those sharks next week.

 

Finished my 34 0630 this morning on the Richmond yard then finished out my Shoemakersville run. Load dropped at the overflow warehouse behind the main warehouse. The address is 311 logistics drive not 300 logistics drive like Qualcomm and paperwork says. They are also not open 24 hrs either….they had me bounce down to the Knight yard in Carlisle to grab another one of these loads to bring it back up and gates are closed and locked. Can’t back out either because of the curve in the drive and how high the curbs are, will definitely tear something up running these curbs over. Took a shower this morning and got plenty of food in the truck anyway.

 

If anyone gets sent to the overflow warehouse for KC in Shoemakersville their hours are 8-4. Asked my DM to send a note to the proper ppl correcting the hours and address but it probably won’t get fixed, lol!

 

At home,bought a new car yesterday, currently still trying to pull myself together.
Got yard work to do today,everybody have a great week.
