Since we had so many different color trucks, I never recognized one of our trucks until I could see the logo on the door...now, when I see a polished primer midroof KW, I catch myself throwing up a hand, then realize it isn't one of our trucks

The deer guards used to be the first clue. Then in if was a Volvo with the beacon way up top that was a dead give away. Kenworths were a little harder to pick out. We used to have almost nothing but blue and black tarps which are pretty unique.

I can still pick out one of our Volvos, and the sliver skid marks, I’m mean sliver streak trucks are recognizable. But we aren’t as consistent as we used to be.

It’s one benefit of the Kivi trucks, the Herd bumpers and red are giveaways. Now with so many old 567’s and W9’s out there you raise a hand and then go oh, that’s not one of ours lol.

A hand wave to a random guy isn't a big deal.

A customer loading a trailer that your company hasn't owned in 5 years just because it's orange, then arguing about it - that's something to gripe about.

If I’m out on the Harley I’ll throw a hand out to other riders going the other way. I don’t always expect one in return, particularly if someone has a handful of clutch at the time, but sometimes I wonder if I’m the only one who does that anymore.

Other truckers, not usually. I don’t know what kind of day he’s having and/or whether or not he wants to be bothered.

About 85% of the fuel haulers here out of Portland all throw a wave at each other.

Knucklehead, REO6205, MACK E-6 and 2 others Thank this.

All of the LTL guys that go out to Jamestown and the surrounding area wave at each other. We treat it as a brotherhood and will also help each other if they need it. Some of the OTR guys will wave on 281-52 but most don’t.

Knucklehead, MACK E-6 and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I remember when I rode with my Dad in the 50's and when I started driving in the late 60's there weren't many cb's out there so drivers used to wave, use hand signals to alert of "smokey" and had a different attitude towards each other than today. Sounds like the old days were better.

I’m really surprised I didn’t. Especially when I found out they didn’t have something in mind for me out here in CA.

we have some big loads line up for after Thanksgiving so I may go home for the last week of October or I might just stay out. I’ll be at 8500 miles when I drop tomorrow.

    Knucklehead Thanks this.
