When I started with swift they had hone depot loads and they would stack lumber on top of the roofing insulation

There was talk where I work of bringing in flatbeds. Granted one would come in handy once in a while, but I want nothing to do with it because of exactly the sort of issue you describe.

I think Menards requires partial tarps on their loads just to catch falling items lol. One of the reasons I dislike hauling fencing are all of the associated items that go along that you have to “get a strap over” on them.

Knucklehead, Lonesome and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I saw a Holland Enterprise with a flatbed instead of a reefer a few months ago.

Back when I was delivering pre loaded and sealed Walmart trailers I wouldn't unseal and open the door until at least an Asst Manager was standing next to me. They always signed off and accepted the damages without question.

    Lonesome and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

    Before: IMG_7543.jpeg during: IMG_7544.jpeg IMG_7545.jpeg
After: IMG_7546.jpeg A keen eye observer might notice the pictures get progressively soggier. We got soaked to the bone today loading these pieces, at least we didn’t have to tarp them. After years in a shot peening facility, they needed a good bath anyway.
