the issue of A to B from C is back. It worked once after reseting.. now won't work again. I've reset again but still no good. Now what?

MarkSilverShadow and Gears Thank this. -
i have only had my 700 for 2 months and it tells me i need to purchase new maps, why?
-
Got a routing goof. Route from Bee Springs, KY to Nashville, TN and it goes the long way north on 259 and around instead of straight down to 31/65. 50 miles longer.
Mark Kling Thanks this. -
If is a TND 700 what is the serial number off the back of the TND?
Thanks,
mark -
Found the problem. False weight restriction flags through Brownsville, KY. That or the restrictions were south of Brownsville until they finished the new highway. Maps are inaccurate south of town.

thanks again for your help Mark.. even the time did correct itself.

I am close to purchasing a new GPS. From what I've read, I'm thinking of the TND 700. But here is a question:
Every GPS device out there that I have seen simply shows a line (indicating the road) and an icon indicating you traveling from bottom to top. Some show '3D', but in general, that's the way they all work.
Is there a system out there that shows the adjacent area as well, allowing you to zoom in and out, to the point where you can generally see the entire mapped route, much like mapquest does?
Everything I've looked at that allows you to zoom into this 'line' closer or further, but all the same, it's just a line with an icon.
Are there any plans to do anything about his with TND?
Any input would be appreciated. -
Mark,
I am getting ready to plunge and buy a GPS rx for my truck. Up until now I have been using my laptop on the passenger seat loaded with two iterations of Delormes' Street Atlas. It has negatives but it is cheap, big and highly customizable.
I have decided after some research that Rand McNally's TND 700 is the tool for me. However I have several questions that I would like to know before I hurl $500+tax over a TS counter.
1. Can I add icons designating truck stops, (they are nowhere near all in "The Truckers Friend") supermarkets, parking spots etc as per Delorme?
2. Can I switch to permanent 2D?
3. Will the map show north at the top and all movement in relationship to that?
Thanks in advance.
