Sitting at the lovely Flying J in North East, MD for a reset. Picking up at Wind Speed Logistics in Baltimore. I guess they have moved, I had the old address saved in my Garmin so I pointed it there first but just to be safe I double checked the map and said to myself "Self, this don't look right." So I called in and after bothering my DMs relief talked to the load planner and she said she's pretty sure they have moved since all the recent loads have been loading at the Bethlehem road address. The new address is close to the former Francis Scott Key bridge so that could be interesting. Heading to Plano, Sillynoise. I'm 99% I've been there before but it wasn't saved in the Geeps so we'll see if I'm 1% or 99% wrong.

Well I’m no longer in a hurry to get to Omaha. Apparently some real nasty weather is gonna be brewing over eastern NE/western IA tonight into tomorrow. High wind warnings and blizzard warnings aplenty. Erik sent out a message saying not to travel in that area and i called my DM and said i wouldn’t be in Omaha tomorrow morning to deliver this load.

As a result, i stopped east of Chicagoland because apparently someone wrecked their #### on 80/94 near Gary (big shocker there). It doesn’t seem like the blizzard conditions at least will make their way into eastern IA so I’ll leave out at zero dark thirty, shoot for Davenport, then assess road conditions from there.

i wonder what happened to drivers who were supposed to get raises in January and February. The whole process was announced literally days before my 2nd anniversary

My post wasn’t singling out anything you said. Just from the number of drivers they have, and stuff like the def situation, you know there are plenty that simply don’t care about anything. They’re not on your case so clearly you’re fine, but for a percentage of drivers if they can get some habits changed then it can benefit the company short term and benefit everyone long term when the market comes back.

And yes, it’s not fun outside. I came home empty from Crete and I was about 40 minutes too late to miss the wind. I hit it at Dorchester and drove 35-40 mph from Friend to the house. Snow is supposed to hit around 7 tonight or so with the 35mph wind.

let’s start a wager on how many trucks people think will be blown over into the ditch or median on I-80…

I’m gonna say over 10. I honestly thought about dropping my empty at a friend’s shop over in Friend but figured I could make it home if I just slowed down.

Time to catch up my moves

Delivered Saturday morning in Bismarck. The guy that worked at the dealer said that this was his first time in 21 years ever getting a full load that went to their store (23 units)

Got back to Fremont Saturday night, took a 34. Got service Monday morning, they installed new steer tires on my truck (90k miles).

Also Monday I completed my load back to LT in Lincoln and grabbed another Kawasaki load that I brought back to Fremont. Then finally grabbed a royal canin load from the yard going to Henry TN (Can’t wait!) for Wednesday delivery.
