Had something similar happen at the entrance to a toll booth. Thing is, she didn't quite get half of her minivan past my front bumper before the lugs on the steer axle made nice swirlies on her side door. I guess she expected me to leave my lane or lock my brakes to avoid her.

When the state police were done with the report, I got a copy with her vehicle and insurance info and she got a citation for unsafe lane change.

I'm from Illinois. Last August I had an accident where I went under an overpass and the top my trailer caught it. My truck was in the shop that week and I was given a different truck that week it was the accident occurred. It happened all Fullerton Avenue in Chicago and I always took this route with my other truck which was in the shop for repairs. The week of the accident I was given a different truck but there was a slight height difference. Another reason why I took this route was to avoid the other routes that had truck prohibited signs and to avoid getting a ticket.

    I was not ticketed.

I did lose my job out of it however. It is on my FMCSA report. I'm concerned that this report can keep me from getting the job or jobs that I really want.

I want to know if anyone ever had to deal with a similar experience and were you able to clear it legally off your report.

    Thank you!

Looks like someone rolled the dice once too often with that low clearance.

Are you talking about your PSP report at the FMCSA? I'm guessing that's what you are calling your FMCSA report. For $10 you can instantly get that report. It shows violations. You can try to remove violations through Data Q, but I don't know that proces. Drivers here do know it.

Don't know how you can challenge a violation that really happened, but maybe someone else does know. Did you get a traffic ticket? Having a CDL means you cannot remove traffic tickets by going to a class, like in the past.

If you have already paid the tickets, then there's nothing you can do. If you haven't, you could always make an appoint with the DA's office for that town or county and try to sweet talk your way out of it by claiming hardship, just trying to make a living, blah blah blah. A lot of times they'll downgrade it in exchange for you paying some pittance of a fine just to get you out of their hair. It just depends on the DA. Some are hard cases, some a bit more relaxed.
